Residential Moving
Houses, duplexes and rentals from the streets off Valley Avenue East to the hillside lots in Fife Heights, with pads, dollies and floor protection on every job.
Moving and Freight Services in Fife
Our port services division has worked out of a Fife warehouse since 2016, and the same yard handles household, office and freight work across the valley:
Residential Moving
Houses, duplexes and rentals from the streets off Valley Avenue East to the hillside lots in Fife Heights, with pads, dollies and floor protection on every job.
Commercial Moving
Offices, retail space, IT rooms and workstations moved after hours or at the weekend so your Fife floor is never down during business hours.
Logistics Warehouse
Receiving, inventory tracking, pick and pack and distribution for business inventory, out of a 63,000 square foot facility opened in 2017.
Port Services
Transloading from ship to truck or rail, cross docking and freight delivery, run out of our Fife yard since the division moved here in 2016.
Drayage
Container lanes across Washington, Idaho and Oregon, with the equipment and the drivers already based in Fife rather than dispatched from another county.
Storage Services
Climate controlled storage with 24 hour video, covering the gap when a Fife closing date slips behind a move out date. Boats, RVs and vehicles too.
Packing Services
A full pack of the whole house, or fragile only work on a kitchen and a china cabinet, plus custom wooden crates for mirrors, artwork and marble.
Packing Supplies
Four box sizes plus wardrobe, dish and mirror boxes, paper, bubble wrap and pads, delivered to your Fife address if you would rather pack yourself.
Long Distance Moving
Quoted on shipment weight and distance rather than by the hour, with an inventory at origin and the same company handling the load at both ends.
Fife Heights is a census designated place on a hill at about 417 feet, north of the city proper and outside its incorporated boundary, inside the Puyallup Indian Reservation and bordered by Federal Way, Milton, Fife and Tacoma. Because it is unincorporated, the City of Fife truck route list does not govern it, and access is a Pierce County question rather than a city one. It is almost entirely residential, with 657 housing units and 622 households at the 2020 census and a median age of 40.2, so the jobs we run up there are family households rather than apartments. The practical issue is the climb and the turn radius at the top, not a posted limit, and we size the truck to the driveway before the day.
How a Fife Move Is Planned
Every Fife move is routed against the city truck route list before the van is loaded, not on the morning of the move:
On Site Estimate
We walk the house, check your address against Fife’s posted weight limits, and put a written plan and a date in front of you at no charge.
Route and Truck Sizing
We fix the approach, on Pacific Highway East, Port of Tacoma Road, Frank Albert Road, Industry Drive or 70th Avenue East, and shuttle in on a smaller truck where a loaded van cannot go.
Load, Move and Reassemble
Pads, dollies and floor protection go down, the load is inventoried in writing, and furniture is reassembled at the other end.
Our port services division launched in 1999 to handle import and export freight through the Port of Seattle and the Port of Tacoma, and it moved into the Fife warehouse in 2016. Out of that yard we run port services including transloading from ship to truck or rail, cross docking and freight delivery, and drayage on lanes across Washington, Idaho and Oregon. That matters to a household customer for one reason: the equipment and the drivers are already in Fife. Across the company we run 29 power units with 31 drivers on record with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and we complete around 7,000 household and office moves a year.
Frequently Asked Questions About Moving in Fife
The questions Fife customers ask us most, from posted weight limits and truck routes to warehouse jobs, storage and how early to book.
The City of Fife does not publish a curb reservation or truck parking permit on its truck route page. Fife Public Works is the department to confirm with for a specific address, and we will make that call as part of planning your route if the street is tight.
Most Fife addresses are reachable, but three central segments carry a posted 7 ton limit and one bridge approach carries 13 tons. We check your address against the city truck route list at the estimate, and where the van cannot go we shuttle the load in with a smaller truck at no change to your scope.
Yes. Commercial and industrial work is a core part of what we run in Fife, including racking, machinery, IT rooms and full warehouse floors, with forklifts and hydraulic lifts where the load needs them.
The southern portions of Fife sit in the Puyallup River floodplain, and in parts of the tideflats the water table is only 10 to 15 feet below ground. We do not store customer goods at ground level in that zone. Household storage runs through our climate controlled facility rather than a Fife ground floor unit.
Book as early as you have a date. Fife runs on the same regional calendar as the rest of Pierce County, where the end of the month and the summer stretch fill first, and a confirmed estimate holds the date.
Tell us the address, the date and roughly what is in the house, and we will come out and give you a written estimate at no charge. The estimate includes the route we plan to take into your street, the truck and the number of movers, and what we will and will not load. Submit the quote form and we will come back to you with a date you can hold. We also serve Tacoma, Federal Way, Puyallup and Auburn.
